Zoroastrianism was named after a man who lived in the time 1000b.b.c. believed that God was talking to him, his name was Zoroaster. People thought he had mental illness so nobody believed him so he sadly left and traveled around West Asia. Finally a king believed him, finally some people believed him and practice the religion. For about 500 years it was a small group until they convinced the new king of Persians, Cyrus. With the support of this king this religion became popular. Zoroastrianism believe that is one main God (Ahura Mazda) who has two brothers, one for the Truth and one for the Lie. For the Persians Kings Zoroastrianism was there main religion for 200 years. When the west Asia was conquered by the Arabs they eventually converted to Arab. But there are still Zoroastrians to this day more in northern India, where they are called Persians.
